1) Development and utilization of novel Cysteine and Selenocysteine deprotection strategies.

The basis and importance of the DTNP-mediated Cys-deprotection research effort is its successful application to removal of the majority of commercially-available Cysteine S-protectants.

2) Development and optimization of new techniques for the creation of vicinal disulfide and selenylsulfide systems.

Application of DTNP methodology toward Cys- & Sec-containing peptide systems allows for facile entry into a multitude of interesting and exotic post-synthetic architectural manipulations.

3) Synthesis of challenging peptide systems via application of new and novel Native Chemical Ligation strategies.

Current Native Chemical Ligation projects in the works which are presently being optimized.
